Guinness World Record with a Purpose
In September 2020, I did something no one had ever done before: I reversed a tractor-trailer 55.34 miles — the longest distance ever recorded — earning a Guinness World Record in the process. But I didn’t do it just to break a record. I did it to raise awareness for something that affects every driver on the road: distracted driving.
Every day, we lose lives to distractions behind the wheel — a glance at a phone, a missed sign, a moment of delayed reaction. I wanted to do something bold enough to grab people’s attention and remind them that focus behind the wheel isn’t optional — it’s life-saving.
Partnering with the National Safety Council during Distracted Driving Awareness Month, I set out to prove what’s possible when you’re fully focused — even while doing something as difficult as reversing a semi-truck for hours on end.

The Challenge
Reversing a semi-truck is one of the hardest skills in trucking — even for seasoned drivers. Doing it for 5 miles would be a feat. 55 miles? That required intense focus, planning, and total control.
I spent months preparing — mentally and physically — and selected a closed course in Atlanta, GA to make the attempt. Every inch had to be verified, every angle documented, and every safety protocol in place to meet Guinness World Record standards.
And then… I got behind the wheel and didn’t stop reversing until I crossed the 55.34-mile mark.
